Emir Homayd of Taid Emirate

Homayd of Taid Emirate (720-) was the Emir of the Taid Emirate of present-day Turkmenistan, serving as a vassal of the Abbasid Caliphate.

Biography[]

Homayd was from the Taids, a dynasty of Sunni Muslim Bedouin. He was made the emir of Khorasan under Caliph al-Mansur, leading the Taid Emirate as a vassal of the Abbasid Caliphate. On 10 September 769 he was faced with an uprising in his domain, so he called on al-Mansur's aid and quelled the revolt, led by Dawud.
